HOPE : The Great Realisation- 03/06/2020
The Great Realisation refers to the Human Awakening in terms of realizing how nature restores its balance in due course resurrecting the planet for inhabitance. Hindsighting our own mistakes help to become conscious and learn how to be righteous about our actions in the future to come.Year 6E joined hands to hindsight 2020 by comparing and contrasting how humans lived their lives before and post the Pandemic. They chose a beautiful poem ‘The Great Realisation’ written by Tom Roberts ,a young British poet to resonate their message amongst their peers to draw hope by learning from their own mistakes and altering their future course by remaining cautious and optimistic .
It took a lot of hardwork and perseverance to consolidate and conduct a virtual assembly for the first time for which 6E has bagged due well deserved accolades .

Magical Monday- 01/06/2020
Magical Monday was conducted for the students of year 6 on 1st of June, 2020 in preparation for the most awaited event of Year 6, E-Oscars. It was a real magical Monday, as the special effects videos and pictures presented by the students was a visual treat to behold. Everyone was awestruck by the unique and creative way in which the students showcased their ICT and technical skills. This event has actually raised our expectation to await and perceive the endless possibilities that the students will bring into life through the upcoming Oscars.
Tyro Tuesday- Lingo Fest- 19/05/2020
The entire year 6 was all excited and enthusiastic for the Tyro Tuesday event, keeping the theme “A journey around the World” in mind. It was a day where children were given the opportunity to dress up in their traditional attire and teach colours, days of the week, greetings in their mother tongue to their peers and teachers. The children extended their creativity by preparing PPT’s, poems and small speeches about their cultures. The teachers also took part in the event by dressing up in the traditional attire and enjoyed learning new languages from the children.
Virtuous Wednesday- Sharing good deeds by creating a Virtuous Tree- 13/05/2020
Virtuous tree symbolizes and represents a healthy working community which can survive only when each part engages themselves in performing their duties towards each other which makes survival possible.
Virtuous Wednesday, an event organized for year 6 kindled a spark amongst students to share their acts of benevolence with their peers and teachers to emphasise on the significance of embedding good values in our system which act as DNA on which the whole community thrives.Registration session went live with the chirping voices of our youngsters sharing their good deed ventures during the holy month of Ramadan.
Virtuous tree personified:As teachers,our heart filled with awe to see how optimism was peeking through the values scribed by the students, on the leaves(people), which seem to be at ease as they hung onto the sturdy branches of a tree (community)

Thrilling Tuesday- The making of the Mayans- 05/05/2020
Thrilling Tuesday exhibited a collaborative world of creativity and fun in the virtual platform which was a visual treat and a day to cherish for the entire year 6. In lieu with learning about the mayan civilization, students designed the colourful mayan mask and created an era of the mayan civilization as a tribute to the great artist who lived years ago.They participated with full zeal and enthusiasm wherein they made the mask and presented it in front of the class and performed the activities by wearing these mask. The Earth Day- 23/04/2020
Year 6 celebrated the Earth day with the aim to instill our love for mother earth and to raise awareness about a wide range of environmental issues and problems, thereby inspiring students to take personal action to address them. A myriad of memorable activities were conducted during the virtual registration session. Student shared the poems which was composed using figurative devices, on actions being taken to protect the planet Earth. Recipes of healthy drink and food depicting the Earth colour were also shared in the session. Stunning and meaningful posters with thought provoking messages were also displayed. Overall the day showcased a set of promising young posterity.
Being Content! 6J Class Assembly! 28/01/2020
A great way to start a day!The students of year 6J presented a lovely assembly to cascade the idea of being content through appreciating and being grateful for what they have . Students spread the message of rediscovering the truth of being content in their lives through a skit of King Midas, which showcased that contentment is the key to happiness and joy in our lives. In order to emphasize the theme, a melodious song was sung which reiterated the idea effectively. Eventually, everyone left the room with a smile on their face that reflected self-realization.
Year 6 Field Trip- Zabeel Park
“Reading opens minds, magnifies hunger for knowledge and instils the values of openness and moderation that define great civilisations,” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of UAE. The ‘Reading Field trip,’ for year 6, to Zabeel Park was planned with the objective to reinforce the love of reading in the students. Fun activities like skipping for girls, skipping and dribbling football for boys while calling out adjectives and adverb based on a theme were thoroughly enjoyed. Students engaged themselves in the world of their own as they read their favourite storybooks. Overall, an enriching!
Year 6F Assembly 18th January- Sustainability
Students of 6F presented an informative assembly on sustainability with great enthusiasm and confidence. This idea was presented in the form of a role play with emphasis on energy efficient technology which are widely used today around the world. The presentation of it in the form of a skit was enjoyed by everyone. The audience, were mesmerized with the “Earth” song which added to deepen the message conveyed and was sung with full passion and confidence by the children.
Humanities Week Year 6 20/01/2020
Students of year 6 organized Humanities week with a lot of enthusiasm and zeal. Various interactive and exciting activities were arranged which gave the students opportunity to explore and develop the taste of various cultures. Wax museum was the highlight for many of our parents and students. Students and parents were given opportunity to share about the civilizations they were associated with and educated us on what life was like in that era. This was followed by activities inside the classroom based on Maya civilization and quiz on diverse topics.
Year 6- Sports Day 09/01/2020
Year 6 Sports Day was held on 9th January, 2020 with great excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The day started with a remarkable March Past of the students, followed by an energizing display of the cheer leading team that mesmerized the audience. Ms. Sharmistha welcomed the esteemed gathering and declared the Sports day open. The activities planned for the participants included obstacle race, stamp about, sack race, relay race and 100 mts run. Students participated in all the events with great team spirit and fervor. Parents and teachers also showed great sportsmanship by participating in the musical chair. Finally the EARTH house bagged the overall Championship making the prize distribution ceremony a cherished moment for the triumphant.

In honor to remember the efforts of the founders of the UAE, year 6 students celebrated Flag Day under the slogan ‘Raise it high, raise it proud’ on Sunday 3rd November, 2019. Children were very enthusiastic about different activities. In registration time, children watched a video about the UAE Flag and its designer.
Afterwards, Emirati students talked to other students of year 6 enriching them with the importance of the Flag Day, the birth of the Flag of UAE and the significance of each color in the flag. Overall, the activities were a great source to highlight the significance of The UAE Flag Day.

Maths Week- Year 6- 15/10/2019
The Math week was all about thinking Mathematically in all spheres of life. A week, full of logics, riddles, curiosity, mental calculations, for our young Mathematicians to share their knowledge. Numerous activities was arranged such as Winch Store, Winch Forex, Islamic Art, quizzes, Puzzles and Being Mathematicians. Students displayed their mathematical skills, explaining the concepts of geometrical patterns, percentage, discounts and so on. Parents felt connected and were positively engaged in a variety of activities to explore, whereas students utilized the opportunity to reflect on their learning.

An interactive assembly on road safety was conducted for the students of year 6 by the RTA. The assembly aimed to emphasis and accentuate children about the need to ensure safety on road by following a few simple traffic rules. Students also participated very enthusiastically in the interactive session held during the assembly. Many activites like quiz, role play and discussions were conducted emphasizing on the importance of obeying rules while travelling on road which enlightened the students and made them responsible road user.
Global Dignity and SEWA Day celebration Year 6- 07/10/2019
On 7th of October, 2019 Sewa Day and Global Dignity Day was celebrated in Year 6 with full fervor and excitement. The day began wherein year 6 students assisted FS 1 and 2 teachers in the conducting the morning activities. The other students watched a video on the same and discussed its importance in groups. Students prepared a small token of love and gratitude for the support staff.
6G's Class Assembly- 03/10/2019
The buzz in the FS area was overwhelming. Students, parents and teachers witnessed the assembly with bright act by the young people of 6G. The assembly comprised of 1 song with drill, acts on positive and negative thinking and a promising poem to stay self-motivated. Class 6G students were able to present the significance of having a thinking positive to the audience as well as to their peers. Students understood when thinking positively is practiced intentionally on a daily basis, can become a way of life. Encouraging students to keep a positive attitude by creating a positive environment as well.
Joy of Giving- Bab Al Taleem Year 6- 03/10/2019
“Joy of giving is immeasurable,” the saying proved absolutely right in Winchester when the Year 6 organised their first BAB AL TALEEM of the year. Students of year 6-A, 6-B and 6-C showcased their generosity by gladly donating toys, books and stationery to raise money for the destitute. The energy buzzing in the lobby was the symbol of humanity. It also showed how our children have inculcated and understood the importance of sharing with others. Students of other classes visited the stalls and enthusiastically purchased the things to contribute towards the noble cause.
Science Week Celebration Year 6- 30/09/2019
The Science week was the replica of what really science inquires. A week, full of experiments, investigations, curiosity, anxiety, and much more. Our young scientists were all equipped to portray their knowledge to their friends and families. There were plethora of activities arranged such as fossils making, Lego habitat, Alien’s soup and Thinking out of the box in the classroom along with science experiments, robotic corner and balloon campaign. Students displayed their inventions, explaining the concepts of environment, global warming, and trash to treasure, making fossils. Parents were overwhelmed, felt connected and positively engaged in a variety of activities to explore, whereas students utilized the opportunity to reflect from their learning.

Year 6 students celebrated the Peace day with numerous wonderful activities. They shared their views and perspectives on how to maintain peace and harmony in the school and around through various activities. A human chain was made to display the importance of togetherness.
New students welcomed in The Winchester School- 01/09/2019
Starting a new school can be a daunting prospect. Team year 6 intended to make the induction as seamless as possible for the new students. Our Winchester’s young team was welcomed on the 1st September and took part in various induction activities. A school tour was led by the teachers and at the same time, meet and greet session was held by the teachers and the senior leaders of the school. It gave students a chance to meet their peers and staff. These young minds had many queries, aspirations and dreams in their minds, which they shared with the teachers and their peers. As the day passed, they were engaged in many exciting activities in the Library session, PE lesson and ICT. Finally, they were engrossed in musical activities planned for them to accelerate.
